What would it take to push you into extreme acts? To go against your morals and values, especially in the name of patriotism? For the characters in these stories, it’s the hopelessness and desperation which accompanies isolation, fear, and failing societal leadership, making them exceedingly vulnerable to the spread of misinformation through technology.
This series of fictional short stories, which tie together in a novella-length book, feature characters unable to cope with their realities who act in extreme ways and how those in leadership positions take advantage of their compromised mental health. The consequences are inevitable, and severe.
These stories are written with the hope readers will look at the ways in which they absorb and process information as individuals, in family units, and in social or societal groups, as well as the ways in which they are affected by technology, social media, and the general proliferation of information in their daily lives. Through this self-examination, we should gain a better understanding of how our brains are being re-wired to alter the definition of such concepts as humanity, empathy, compassion, leadership, and other essential aspects of a healthy society.
